Bennett Boeschenstein is a semi-retired urban planner, having worked as a professional planner over the past nearly 40 years for the City of Fruita, the City of Grand Junction, Mesa County, the City of Norwalk, Connecticut and Hudson County, New Jersey. A native of St. Louis, Missouri, he holds a Masters Degree in Urban Planning from New York University and a Bachelor’s degree in political science and economics from the University of Cincinnati. He served in the US. Peace Corps for three years in Kenya and Tanzania, East Africa where he taught primary school and did agricultural extension work.
He is a member of the America Institute of Certified Planners and the American Planning Association. He is the past president of the Colorado Chapter of the American Planning Association and of the Fruita Rotary Club. He is a founding member of the Riverfront Commission. He is a volunteer programmer at community radio station, KAFM.
His interests include bicycling, hiking, skiing, photography, art, music,architecture, parks, open space and rivers.
He is married to Elizabeth Rowan and is the father of three children. Bennett has lived in the Grand Valley for over 30 years.
