Subject: More Businesses Caught Selling Alcohol to Minors
Contact: Kate Porras
The Grand Junction Police Department, Mesa County Sheriff’s Office, and State Liquor Enforcement conducted compliance checks at 67 liquor establishments across Mesa County on July 19. Of the 67 businesses checked, five were caught selling alcohol to minors.
The businesses that failed last night’s compliance checks are:
La Bamba Mexican Restaurant
The Golf Club at Redlands Mesa
JF Strothman Distillery
The 67 businesses checked during this latest operation were the remaining businesses that were not checked during last week’s operation.
Of the five who did not pass, one had a previous violation within the last two years. As a result, La Bamba Mexican Restaurant may face an active suspension of its liquor license, however that will be determined by the City of Grand Junction Liquor Board.
This operation was funded by the Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws grant, which was awarded to the Grand Junction Police Department in October 2011.
